Who We Are
The effort of European Sport For All Federation - UESpT is to represent a particular way of thinking about sport:

Open to all population groups;

Understood in the modern sense, as physical activity, free, spontaneous, practiced in leisure, in sense that physical activity is recreation, relaxation and distraction;

Open to various perspectives and different active participants according to the conditions (physical, social, sexual, etc.) of each one;

More democratic and with widespread perspectives to everyone, in terms of equal opportunities for participation in knowledge an implementation to physical activity

Open to the families (kids, parents, grandparents).
In order to implement this philosophy, UESpT:

Work to create a universally accepted concept of “Sport for All” to spread from Europe to the whole world.

Create a new concept of “Recreational Contest” reinforcing the link between “competitive sport” and “leisure sport”.

Organize actions on “Sport for All” and work to spread experience from seniors to young people

Listen requests and proposals by youth (the future of “Sport for All”, youth for youth, etc.) in order to create an “European Youth Sports Parliament”.

Spread human values of sport through “Sport for All” associated with actions against Violence and Discrimination.

Work to create a “European white Bible” on “Sport for All”.

Create a “UESpT social community”.

Start a dialog with the European Commission in order to access financing on specific projects on “Sport for All”.

Create, together with IOC and EOC, educational and formative programs: clinic about “sports marketing”, “sports volunteers”, “sports & healthy lifestyles”, etc.

Create an “Observatory on the sport and social policy, culture through sport, solidarity and social inclusion” as a reference point for athletes, managers, journalists, volunteers, etc.

Organize Sport Events as the “Senior Games”, “Youth sports Events”, “Traditional Games”, etc and International Conferences in topics of sport, culture, health and wellness, Sport and economy, active tourism, etc
Only “Sport for All” can be the way of development for the future, because it defends and protects the real values of social sport starting from a slogan that we should follow every day such as “development of sport”. Heritage of everybody. Heritage of Humanity.
Our History
The European Sport for All Union (Union Européenne du Sport pour Tous abbreviated UESpT) is the European continental union of the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT), recognised as a European non-governmental organisation dedicated to the promotion of “Sport for All” and “social sport”.
UESpT is a non-profit, apolitical and anti-racist association, operating both within and outside the territories of the European Union, inspired by the principles of human rights, democracy, inclusion and the European charters on sport for all.
The roots of UESpT lies in the international “Sport for All” movement and in the establishment of the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT). FISpT was founded in Strasbourg in 1982 and endowed with a statute in 1984. From FISpT arosed the need for a European continental structure.
The FISpT statutes was adopeted in Strasbourg on the 24th of February 1984. See the FISpT history.
UESpT was founded, following the guidelines of the FISpT statutes, on the 20th October 1988.
From the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, the European Sport for All Union consolidated itself as the European reference point of the movement, up to its formal definition as a European NGO for “Social Sport”, created in 1998 by a group of European citizens committed to democratising access to sport. Its first headquarters was in Strasbourg.
A key moment for the Union was the reform of its governance and the updating of its statutory objectives, carried out at the Extraordinary General Assembly held in Milan on 5 December 2014. Milan therefore became the association’s headquarters. See the attached file.
On 30 June 2021 the Union was placed under administration controll by the International Sport for All Federation, revoking the recognition to the constituted entity and managing UESpT as a commission under the guidance of FISpT President Isa Mohamed Abdulrahim Mohamed Alrafaei. On 11 October 2022, Dr Michele Barbone was appointed Commissioner following his election as Vice-President for Europe of the International Sport for All Federation. See the attached file.
On 29 October 2023, in Rome, at the CONI “Palazzo H”, the elective extraordinary assembly of UESpT was held. Dr Michele Barbone was elected President, the headquarters were moved to Cesena and the statute was updated, keeping the status of commission and starting the new incorporation process. On 24 January 2026, in Civitanova Marche, the new Board of UESpT was elected, UESpT EGM decided to incorporate the association again and the statute was updated once again to comply with the National Register of the Third Sector (RUNTS), and the headquarter was moved to Rome, reaching a total of 20 member countries and 22 individual members.
